Wytheville, VA – As reported by SWVA Today, Formato Fine Arts is proud to present "In Tension," a special art show on Saturday, July 1, 2023. The event will feature renowned queer, non-binary artist Lindsey Cherek Waller, along with gallery owner Lily Formato and abstract expressionist Robby Suthers of Wytheville.
Waller’s work focuses on creating a queer, non-binary world through portraits and still life paintings. "I paint to create a queer, non-binary world where pleasure can be experienced beyond what capitalism allows," Waller explains.
Lily Formato, founder of Formato Fine Arts, brings her unique perspective on Appalachian life and the female experience to the show. Robby Suthers, currently touring Europe, will also showcase his dynamic abstract expressionist pieces.
The event, starting at 6:30 p.m., promises a vibrant celebration of art, including performances by drag queens, culinary delights from Slider Kings food truck, and wines from West Wind Winery. Admission is free.
Formato Fine Arts, established in 2018, is dedicated to exploring new ideas and mediums, with a focus on female-identifying artists.
