James Joseph Stenson. I am an artist who works in a variety of media. I create with daily, recognizable elements, which the viewer is confronted with his or her own perception.
My work will urge you to renegotiate art as being part of a reactive medium. By applying abstraction, I try to approach a wide scale of subjects. I like to involve the viewer in a way that is sometimes physical and believes in the idea of function following form in a piece of art.
My paintings never show the complete structure, this results in the fact that the I can easily imagine one’s interpretation without being hindered by reality. The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted. My Art studio is in a 1905 farm house on Claytor Lake, New River Valley, Va
