Formato Fine Arts' Lily Formato Inspires Wake Forest University Students

Wytheville, VA – As reported by SWVA Today, Lily Formato, owner of Formato Fine Arts, recently inspired students at Wake Forest University with her entrepreneurial journey. Invited by Dan Cohen, Executive Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at WFU, Formato shared her experiences as a young business owner and artist.

During her presentation, Formato, 21, discussed the challenges and triumphs of opening her art gallery in Wytheville in late 2018. She highlighted her journey through the Covid pandemic, which included personal losses and business adaptations that led to a revamped gallery and a strong social media presence with over 40,000 TikTok followers. Formato's gallery, which offers art and dance classes and showcases international artists, has become a vibrant community hub.

Formato emphasized the importance of seeking help and networking, sharing anecdotes of her struggles and successes. Her story resonated with the students, demonstrating that with determination and creativity, they too can achieve entrepreneurial success.
